30 Days until take-off

Meeran knocked on my office door today to ask some questions about the upcoming sleep-over and as she was leaving she had to add, with a huge grin, that there are only 30 days left until we leave.

So exciting!

Mr. Campanella, Ms. Jenkins, Meeran, Sebastian, Alina, Sophia, Geneva, Fion, Bhanesha, Megan and I will actually get to meet the staff and students at Kipevu Primary School.  We will see the wall first-hand and participate in an amazing IB experience.

The students seem really solid right now.  I think they are confident and excited.  I bet that most of their time is being taken up by school work now as they are pushing hard to finish their course work by the end of May.  I find myself in the same situation, but all my jobs are really enjoyable right now, so the balance between KP2010 preparation and my courses has been ok.  All the other staff are totally pitching in with planning and preparation--we definitely couldn't do this without their invaluable support.

I hope the sleep-over goes well and I'll post some pics once it's done.  Excited to hear that some alumni are coming.  Should be a blast.

I have been immersing myself in reading and movies about Kenya for a while now and have been checking out an online Kenyan newspaper, The Daily Nation http://www.nation.co.ke/

Lots to do still!  The staff at KPS are getting so excited: reading their emails is a highlight of this experience, but I'm sure the best is yet to come!
