SO FAR

The first day at Kipevu was amazing!!. Before I went, I surely did expect some sort of welcoming ceremony, but I was truly surprised and amazed by what they’ve done for us: as our bus enters the main road to the school, about 400 students from Kipevu stand on two sides of the road welcoming our arrival. I was shocked. We were shocked. The spirit was so strong; everyone was waving at us, smile at us, and expecting us to wave back. What and how we felt like was indescribable. After the unexpected welcoming, we went into the principal’s office and went through our schedule for the day. Then at about one o’’clock ,we were sent into the staffroom for lunch; to be honest the meal they prepared for us was so much better than what all of us have expected. There were: rice, potatoes, beans, beef, mango, banana, passion juice and spinach. My favourite dish was pinach. Following by the excellent meal, all of us went outside and began to dance with the students! The moment we get out of the staffroom, every single one of us was surrounded by at least 20 kids. They wanted to dance, shake hands, and high five us. So far, everything is great, and it is our hope that this will continue!
